Founded by the Petiet family, the exhibited paintings illustrate painting from the second half of the 19th century. First, the intimate and delicate works of limousine artist Marie Petiet and the scenes of battles of the war of 1870 by Etienne Dujardin-Beaumetz. Then those of the great painters of academism: My wife and her sisters by Henri Caro-Delvaille, La Sultana by Casimir Saint-Pierre. Finally, works such as Henri Le Sidaner's table or Notre-Dame de Paris by Achille Laugé bear witness to 20th century art.
